Description

Appreciation of our individual identity is not something to be discarded on the path of spiritual awakening. In fact, a correct understanding of individuality can support and lead to a deeper appreciation of all things, beyond the limited, habitual ways we see ourselves and the world that surrounds us. On the other hand, spending too much of our energy attempting to define our individuality seems to drain us of any genuine inspiration. During this weekend program, Rinpoche playfully and skillfully explores the dance between appreciating one’s own unique challenges and qualities and expanding the scope of one’s relationship with other beings. Using humor and examples, Rinpoche helps us see how a deeper understanding of interdependence benefits our daily life. These teachings were given at the first stop on Rinpoche’s 2013 North East Tour.
