In this three DVD set, the first teachings of His Holiness the Seventeenth Karmapa on Western soil were fresh and personal. His insights and compassion spoke directly to Western hearts and minds. These teachings launch a series titled "Wisdom of Enlightened Mind". The first teaching in this three DVD set is titled "Awakening the Heart", and was given in New York City in May of 2008. This talk was introduced by a two song musical offering by Lou Reed. The second teaching, titled "Healing the World" was given in Boulder, Colorado and was introduced by Lady Diana Mukpo and Pema Chodron. The third teaching in the set is titled "The Journey Begins". This was given in Seattle, and was introduced with a talk on Avalokiteshvara given by Lama Palden Drolma. Through this series, Karmapa shares his insights on developing the mind of compassion, cutting through confusion, working positively with hardships and developing strong connections with the world around us.
