Description

Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche teaches on The Lamp of Mahamudra by Tsele Natsok Rangdrol. Mahamudra is the nature of all things and the supreme method for pointing out the nature of mind to beings with the capacity to receive such teachings. Tsele Natsok Rangdrol presents Mahamudra in 3 sections — Ground, Path, and Fruition. The Ground section explains the nature of all things and how our view of things deviates from that nature. Path teaches the path for realizing mahamudra by practicing tranquility and insight meditation while resting in the self-arisen nature. Fruition teaches full realization. Because Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche spoke for long periods of time in Tibetan, his long monologues have been curtailed so that the continuity of the English translations of these teaching is not broken. Thus, the voice heard for the vast majority of the time is that of the translator, Lama Yeshe Gyamtso. The unedited teaching (including all Tibetan) is available on DVD.
