In Talk 1, Rinpoche teaches the fundamental meaning of karma, how it is created, and how it manifests. He explains the three types of karma (negative, positive, and neutral) and teaches that karma is simply, compete, and definitely infallible. Rinpoche then provides helpful and amusing instructions on working with karma in our post-meditation practice. In Talk two, Rinpoche concludes his presentation on karma by presenting the five stages or aspects necessary to compete a karmic action. Rinpoche then turns to merit, providing detailed instructions for accumulating merit While those instructions are profound, Rinpoche's presentation makes them easy to understand and practice. In Talk 3, Rinpoche turns to the topic of magic, which is linked to the Fourth Noble Truth -- the truth of cessation. The Tibetan word literally means miracle, the miracle of awakening from our nightmare of samsara. Rinpoche shares several attributes of awakening that can be characterized as magic. He explains the process of discovery we go through to experience this magic, the qualities of awakening and the necessity of working with a etcher in order to mark this magic happen. In all three talks, Rinpoche generously solicits and responds to questions. These three talks were presented in 1994 to the Shambhala community at Gampo Abbey, Canada. The sound quality is excellent. Rinpoche taught in English.
