When faced with the complex and painful world situation, it might seem hopeless – the world and its inhabitants are caught in a seemingly inescapable web of conflict and suffering. We aspire to bring peace to this situation. The difficulty is that we don’t know how to do this. In this delightful and humor-filled talk, Lama Kathy Wesley describes the Buddhist view of conflict and peacemaking. Using the words of Buddha in the Dharmapada, Shantideva in The Way of the Bodhisattva, and Gyatsal Thogme Zangpo in The Thirty-Seven Practices of a Bodhisattva she helps us understand the source of conflict and war. She then teaches methods for working with our minds (especially anger and hatred) to transform conflict and bring peace into our own hearts that we can then bring to the world at large. This wonderful teaching is enhanced and clarified through the extensive question and answer session Lama Kathy offers.. One talk.
